In our next reference, we present the complete renovation of a neo-Renaissance residential building at 47 Andrássy út, Budapest. The original building of A47 was designed by Vilmos Freud. Restored to its former glory, the building has been designed and restored to its former splendor and is now an ornament of the avenue. The A47 has 13 luxury apartments and three commercial units.

A vision of the designer and investor: A complete renovation while preserving the building's former character. The vision of the architect and the owner are to maintain the existing building while preserving the original design. A meeting of old and new. Combining a classic look with modernity.

Our concept was based on restraint and discretion. We aimed to give the building a frame in the night that would set it apart from the other buildings on Andrássy Avenue and Liszt Ferenc Square, indicating that the façade is a premium quality living space.

As the architects' vision was in line with ours, we easily found common ground and the technical content was quickly developed, which allowed us to achieve our goal. Discretion is achieved through the lighting - no light from the decorative lighting enters the apartments. Everything has been positioned to avoid this. For this reason, we had to choose ultra-low wattage luminaires with good optical performance. The technical content also had to match the function of the building. As the luminaires are located on the façade and their cables run through the apartments - private areas - each luminaire had to be connected to a separate low-voltage high-cross-section individual network, which required special attention from the contractors and specific solutions from the manufacturer.

We are proud to have contributed with lighting design to this large-scale, truly impressive project.
