You may have read about the history of the building in many places. The building's architectural designers have combined a number of modern solutions with the styles of the past, transforming a structurally dilapidated and challenging building with almost every brick into a luxury hotel and events centre. BOTANIQ Turai Castle is now a 19-room luxury hotel and event centre.

The interior designers were inspired by the original imagery of the Loire châteaux and sought to respect the elegance of the building. The wallpapers, which are reproductions of period wall paintings, or the terrazzo tiling, all evoke the château's heyday, but the new geometric patterns, the innovative use of colour and the modern furniture bring the beauty of the original spaces to a whole new light. Carefully restored frescoes and architectural elements, as well as works of contemporary craftsmanship, complement each other beautifully and create a new but complete and coherent visual experience in these interiors.

Our team was responsible for the lighting design of the entire building, with more than 2,000 luminaires installed throughout the project.

The unique atmosphere of the castle and the carefully selected luminaires are brilliantly combined to create a truly symphonic and characterful whole. The castle is a listed building, so it was important to preserve the historic style, with the main aim of creating fresh and fashionable interiors. The style and form of most of the interior design elements reflect a more modern approach, while the use of colour and materials and the layout reflect a more historic feel. This dichotomy is also reflected in the lighting design concept. Our lighting designers have placed great emphasis on ensuring that modern lighting fixtures create the right ambience in the historic building. Of particular note is our custom-designed chandelier composition of 44 mouth-blown glass bows, which occupy a central position in the building, spanning 7.6 metres and with a footprint of 3 x 3 metres.

We are proud to have contributed with lighting design to this impressive project.
